Spring 2025 - KickStarters Program at McAlpine ES

NEW THIS SEASON: We are splitting the age groups for KickStarters.
Separate time slots for U5/2020 birth year and U6/2019 birth year.
Both divisions are co-ed.
If you prefer to play UP to U6 group to be with friends/siblings/experience, you must contact us.

KickStarters is a PARENT COACHED program.
Programs may be combined or limited based on enrollment and number of volunteer parent coaches.
Registration subject to cancelation if there are insufficient volunteer coaches.

CSA Rec offers the KickStarters program as an alternative to our traditional U6 program.

The KickStarters program will serve as an introduction to organized team soccer for our youngest players that are new to the sport and parents looking for a Saturday-only program.
If your child has played soccer previously, our regular U6 program may be a better fit!
Parent volunteers will lead co-ed teams in a 30-minute practice session followed by a 30-minute game against another KickStarters team.
A parent or designated adult guardian that provides transportation for the player must remain onsite at all times. Players may not be dropped off.

Eligible ages:
Teams are Co-ed.
Separate sessions available for players born in 2019 (U6) and 2020 (U5).
2020 birth year players may REQUEST to play up. This is recommended for returning players.

McAlpine Elementary School Fields, 9100 Carswell Lane, Charlotte 28277 (MAP)
U5 (2020 Birth year): 8:30am - 9:45am
U6 (2019 Birth year): 9:45am - 11:00am

Spring Break (no sessions) on April 12 & 19)
Sessions are outside and subject to weather cancellations. 6 sessions guaranteed. Make up dates, if needed will be Sundays in season.

Fee: $100 per player, includes a CSA t-shirt. No uniform purchase required!
Requests for registration cancellation must be received by February 1 to be eligible for credit or refund. All cancellations are subject to $25 administrative fee. No refunds/credits for individual player registration cancellations received after February 1.

As with all our recreational programs, we depend on PARENT VOLUNTEERS to coach teams, this is a great chance to get involved! Please volunteer when you register your child for KickStarters! Program will be cancelled if we have an insufficient number of parent volunteers!

If your player has not participated with us recently, you will be required to upload your player's proof of birth (Birth Certificate or passport) during the registration process.

If this will cause a great delay in your registration, please contact us for assistance!

This program has limited capacity and may close early. If the program is full, you may register your child to the wait list. Payment is due only if your player is activated.

Formation of teams is dependent on sufficient parent volunteers and enrollment.

*This program is best suited for players brand new to soccer - if your child has played previously, please consider our U6 programs!

This program is TEAM-BASED and utilizes VOLUNTEER PARENTS AS COACHES.

Without coaches, the program will not form! Please consider volunteering to coach your child's team. You can volunteer during registration.

Season: March 15-May 18

Practice and Games: This is a SATURDAY-ONLY program, running from 8:30am to 9:45am or 9:45am-11:00am (depending on age) at McAlpine Elementary School (MAP). Teams will practice for 30 minutes then play a game for 30 minutes.

Players will be provided a CSA T-shirt to be worn every game day. Uniform purchase is NOT required.

Other required equipment: Athletic shorts, athletic shoes or soccer cleats, soccer shin guards, soccer socks to cover shin guards. size 3 soccer ball.
