Age Groups And Policies - Spring 2019

Age Qualifications

Our registration programs will guide you to the correct age group based on your child's date of birth. Please do not alter your child's date of birth. We check birth certificates as required by NCYSA. Falsification of information is grounds for removal from the program with no refund.

Age Group  Year of Birth
 6U  2013 & 2014
 8U  2011 & 2012
 10U 2009 & 2010

Play Up Policies

We allow children to play in older or younger age groups under limited conditions. If you are seeking to play in a different age group, please read below.

Because our age groups span 2 years or more, we allow players to change age groups only after successful evaluation by our Director of Coaching. If you wish to have your child play in an older or younger division than shown in the table above, please contact [email protected] to request an evaluation for your child. Evaluations will be held Monday, February 18th at McAlpine Elementary School. If the change is not approved, they will be assigned to a team in their true age group.

Frequently Asked Questions/CSA-Palisades

REGISTRATION

How do I know which age group to choose?

Our registration program will direct you to the correct program based on your child's date of birth and gender.
Your child remains in the same age group for the fall and spring seasons.

My child wants to play with his friend/sibling/classmate that is in a different age group. Can we change age groups?

Because of our sanctioning with USYS and NCYSA, we follow their age groups and their guidelines. We require that all players enter their correct date of birth, register in their correct age group, and file a request to change age groups with [email protected]. We may require a brief evaluation of the player prior to approving the change. Remember, we do collect and check birth certificates. Falsification of your child's date of birth in our registration system can result in removal from the program.

Can I choose a practice day?

Our smaller sections (Palisades, Uptown/ECAA, North) have set practice nights that you can sign up for. At Charlotte and Matthews, you can black out one or two nights that you CANNOT play. This gives us enough flexibility to form teams on nights that volunteer coaches are available. If you choose to coach, you can select your practice day!

Can I choose a coach?
We do not allow coach selection at 6U, 8U or 10U due to the conflicts and confusion that it causes.

Can I choose a friend as a teammate?
My child needs to ride with a neighbor. Can they be on the same team?

We do allow players to request one teammate in their age group, please be sure to register for the same location.

PRACTICES AND GAMES

When are the games?

Games are on Saturdays, between 9am and 5pm. Games times will vary.

What if it is raining?

Our program is very large and rescheduling practices and games is difficult. For that reason, we make every effort to hold all practices and games as scheduled, even in the rain! When we have to cancel games or practices, we have several methods of notification. We have scheduled several opportunities to make up games, but on occasion it is not possible to reschedule. Please review our Weather Policy and Field Status page
